Women in Dialogue Club was founded in the May of 2006, with its mission to promote respect and understanding among all cultural, racial groups and faith traditions through organizing settings for the exchange of ideas and social interaction.WIND is formed mainly by a group of international graduate students who are committed to this goal. Diversity is our richness. We believe that forming dialogue environments will be a means to appreciate diverse opinions and eliminate the stereotypes often assigned to `others.

We invite and encourage sharing of various perspectives, which will enthuse and enlighten us in our effort to fulfill this mission. To reach this goal, we will be organizing and taking part in different social activities, including seminars, discussion panels, lectures, fundraisers, trips, special cultural performances and reading groups that bring people of diverse backgrounds together. We conduct events to celebrate common holidays of major cultures and religions. So far, we have held cooking classes, picnics and community services, which provided a medium for people with various belief and cultural backgrounds to come together, engage in dialogue and form new friendships. Rather than focusing on differences, we try to emphasize commonalities that bring us together and outnumber the differences. We truly hope that by doing so, the activities organized by WIND would contribute to the world peace, tolerance, and understanding.
We do not have a particular agenda or no inherent ideology, other than respect and genuine concern for welfare of life on this planet of ours. WIND is not dedicated to a particular religious or cultural perspective. We recognize and honor the specific differences that distinguish individuals and cultural groups, yet seek the common principles and values through which they can be harmonized. We are committed to universal values of freedom, justice, and the rights of all living beings.WIND warmly welcomes everyone who wishes to work with, and supports the work of organizations and individuals to further peaceful relations, respect, and understanding between people with different backgrounds.
